CDI College Adds Practical Nursing Diploma Program in Surrey

CDI College is now making it easier to get trained to become a nurse in the Surrey, British Columbia area. CDI College recently introduced the new Practical Nursing program at its campus in Surrey.

“LPNs work in a range of settings, from hospitals and long-term care to doctor’s offices and public schools,” said Larry Heinzlmeir, VP of Marketing for CDI College.

“In order to provide care to a variety of people, they need the right combination of skills and education. The Practical Nursing program at CDI College provides that training.”

The 75-week Practical Nursing program prepares students to meet the competencies and standards established by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of British Columbia (CLPNBC).

Students will study:

  • The history and evolution of LPNs within the Canadian healthcare system
  • Professional communication
  • Pharmacology
  • Health promotion
  • Disease prevention
  • Management of disease and illness across the lifespan, with an emphasis on intervention and treatment

Students will also take part in a preceptorship, so they can demonstrate the integration and consolidation of the knowledge, skills and abilities they have earned in the workplace.

CDI College is now accepting applications for this program.
