Find Canada’s Nursing Jobs: Student Career Planning for after graduation
If you just finished studying nursing at a school like George Brown or Centennial College you’re probably ready to start your career. You want to know where Canada’s best nursing jobs are.
To help you in your search, The Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) recently announced the winners of the 2011 CNA Employer Recognition Award.
They ranked Toronto’s Centre for Addiction and Mental Health as the top employer-while naming Fraser Health (British Columbia), York Central Hospital (Ontario) and Winnipeg Regional Health Authority as honourable mentions.
Meanwhile, Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, Horizon Health Network, and Saint John Regional Hospital were named this year’s Innovation Award recipients.
“Over 16,200 nurses across Canada have earned their CNA certification,” said CNA president Judith Shamian.
“Things are moving so fast in the world of nursing: new treatments, novel technologies and innovations in care mean that nurses have to put a serious effort and a great deal of study into staying current. It’s great to see employers firmly supporting nurses in their drive to excel.”
The CAN assessed employers based on their commitment to supporting registered nurses (RNs) pursuing and maintaining national certification.
