triOs College has launched a new BlackBerry support program.
As “what’s your BlackBerry pin” replaces “what’s your email address,” the need for people to troubleshoot mobile devices is growing. To meet the industry’s demand, triOS College is now offering a new Mobile & Desktop Support Technician Program.
“We are excited to be offering such an enriched program that will produce a talented pool of technicians to meet the demands and challenges of this fast-growing industry,” said Networking Faculty Head, Jason Eckert.
The program offers Microsoft and BlackBerry® Certification, and is offered in six out of triOS College’s eight campuses, with classes starting each month. Eckert said they expect the program to appeal to people who want to start ASAP.
“The smaller programs are a little bit sexier for people who don’t want to go to school for very long. Maybe they have a family or whatnot. They really need to get a job soon, and they’re considering getting into the I.T. industry, but they don’t know much about the I.T. industry so they want to try it out.”
He added the intensive nature of the 33 week course helps them enter the workforce quickly.
“They’re going to get a good job because they’ve got the skills to enter pretty much any job posting out there at the entry level.”
The program is the only Canadian curriculum that’s offered through a direct partnership with BlackBerry. It focuses on hands-on and targeted training over 33 weeks, including 8 weeks of on-the-job training. After graduation students are prepared to move into burgeoning careers like Help Desk Support Technician, Mobile & Desktop Support Technician or Network Administrator.
Since 1992, triOS college has helped their students train for new careers in anywhere from 8 to 94 weeks. They currently have campuses in Kitchener, London, Hamilton, Mississauga, Brampton, Toronto, Windsor, and Oshawa.
