VanArts was recently attended Spark [FWD], a visual effects festival.
This month, Vancouver Institute of Media Arts participated in Spark [FWD] Festival and Conference for Visual Effects. February 5-9 turned out to be 5 days of digitally enticing events, including a job fair, a conference, and a festival. Vancouver’s premier event on advanced imaging & visual effects invited computer graphic enthusiasts and students to prepare their demo reels, resumes, and questions for this year’s top recruiters.
In its aim to provide students with first-rate job opportunities, VanArts participated in the event with their own booth, and VanArts Head of Animation/Dean of Faculty Wayne Gilbert spoke in the panel on Vancouver’s Animation and VFX Schools, highlighting the strengths of the VanArts program.
Many current students and graduates of VanArts came out to the free event to listen to the great roster of speakers and presentations and to connect with several local animation & VFX studios already employing VanArts graduates, including Digital Domain, Framestore, Gener8, Image Engine, Industrial Light & Magic, Moving Picture Company (MPC), Nerd Corps Entertainment, Prime Focus World, Rainmaker Entertainment, Scanline VFX and Zoic Studios. It was also an opportunity to meet the decision makers of internationally known studios with productions seen by millions of viewers worldwide.
