CDI College’s Hamilton Campus Launches Law Clerk with Internship Diploma Program

CDI College’s 56-week Law Clerk with Internship diploma program has been launched in Hamilton.
CDI College recently launched the Law Clerk with Internship diploma program at its Hamilton campus. The program is already available at its campuses in Mississauga, North York, Scarborough and Toronto.
The program combines comprehensive hands-on training with a five-week internship component that allows students apply the skills and knowledge they’ve acquired by working alongside law professionals. While it can take up to two years to complete the program at other schools, the program at CDI College is designed to be completed in only 56 weeks.
“CDI College continually updates curriculum and introduces programs in order to keep up with the demands of the marketplace,” says CDI College’s vice-president of marketing, Larry Heinzlmeir. “[T]he employment outlook for paralegals, legal assistants and law clerks is good throughout the province. With the introduction of the Law Clerk with Internship program, we want to be able to help students prepare to enter this field with confidence.”
Students in the Law Clerk program will gain a fundamental understanding of the legal system and cover several areas of law, including employment law, intellectual property, corporate law, wills and estates and criminal law, among others. Successful graduates can apply to write the four Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario (ILCO) exams, as well.
Heinzlmeir encourages prospective students to contact the school about this and other CDI College programs.
“With multiple start dates and no wait lists, students can start when they’re ready,” he says. “[S]tudents also benefit from working with industry-experienced instructors in small classes that allow for more interaction with their teachers and peers.”
