CDI College Students Use iPads for Enhanced Learning

Students, instructors and faculty will all use the iPad as part of the year-long pilot project.

Business school. There’s an app for that.

CDI College’s Calgary North Business Administration students will be the first in Canada to receive iPads from their school. A few schools in the US and UK have issued the super-tablet to their students, but the project will be the first of its kind in Canada.

“The Calgary North campus is known for its innovative application of media-rich, technology-intensive instruction,” says Bohdan Bilan, Vice President of Academics for CDI College.

“The campus boasts state-of-the-art wireless and computer technology, laptop-equipped students and classrooms using 52-inch flat screen televisions for instructional delivery. With the iPads and Wi-Fi access, learners will be able to study, take e-notes and review course material not only in class or on campus, but anywhere at any time.”

Each student’s iPad will come equipped with all of their required electronic course textbooks, as well as web-based instructional portals and tools.

Students, instructors and faculty will all use the iPad as part of the year-long pilot project.

There are also plans for CDI College to run similar projects in British Columbia on their Surrey and Richmond campuses, for practical nursing programs.
