Trillium College School of Denturism Transforms Student with Life-Changing Makeover
Trillium College celebrated its May Grand Orientation and Graduation in style this year by running a social media competition for a personal makeover — hair, makeup, nails, image consulting, and clothing – courtesy of the college’s various health programs.
A panel of judges selected Cassandra Caverly, a Personal Support Worker student from Trillium’s St. Catharines campus in Ontario, as the winner. She was nominated by a fellow student who felt the makeover would help build up Caverly’s confidence and encourage her to take the lead.
If the makeover wasn’t enough of a dream come true, Cassandra got an additional, unexpected prize: acrylic partial dentures, worth an estimated $2,500.
“In the process of choosing our winner, we realized that Cassandra would really benefit from the services of our outstanding Denturism School,” says Trillium College CEO, Darryl Simsovic. “We have a variety of top quality health programs at Trillium College, and we were delighted to be able to add this to her prize.”
Caverly spent two full days at Trillium’s Yonge Campus in Toronto, where she received personal care from the campus manager and an instructor, both certified denturists. She underwent a screening and oral exam to ensure there were no underlying health conditions and received acrylic partial upper dentures, giving her a full smile she could be proud of.
Caverly revealed her new look on stage at Trillium College’s Graduation ceremony on Wednesday May 22nd, in front of her fellow students, husband and two children.
The May Grand Orientation and Graduation event, held at the Burlington Performing Arts Centre in Burlington, Ontario, showcases the college’s programs and activities to prospective students. Trillium College Police Foundations students were on hand to assist with crowd control as students flocked to learn more about the variety of college services and activities, including financial aid, admissions, social media and study skills supports, and image consulting. Burlington Massage Therapy students administered free massages while Esthetics and Hairstyling students demonstrated their hair and makeup skills.
A number of high profile speakers made inspirational presentations, including Trillium College CEO Darryl Simsovic, equities analyst and entrepreneur Lou Schizas, Tamara Glick of Trademark Image Consulting and Burlington MPP Jane McKenna.
