Liaison College Kitchener Unveils New Facility For Culinary Students
This week Kitchener’s Liaison College will cut the ribbon on a new facility, at an old location.
The former MTD manufacturing facility has been converted into a new learning environment, complete with a larger commercial kitchen with separate dishwashing area, a staging room, a dining room (which will double as a classroom when needed) and a resource centre filled with colourful recipe books and magazines to inspire students.
The revamped building’s stylish and loft-inspired layout and interior was designed by Sharon McKenzie (her work can be seen work in the Toronto Beaches), exclusively for Liaison College.
Liaison College is one of Canada’s top schools for the culinary arts. They have locations in Whitby, Oakville, West Toronto, Downtown Toronto, Vaughn/ York, Brant County, Kingston, Hamilton, Barrie, Kitchener and Hearst.
They offer a number of different programs and diplomas including, Cook Basic Level I Diploma, Cook Advanced Level II Diploma, Personal Chef Diploma, Chef de Cuisine, Specialist Chef, Culinary Management and Hospitality Administration.
They also offer flexible class schedules, and small class sizes for individual attention. Many students are eligible for scholarships or for the new Ontario Government Second Career program.
