Niagara College To Show Off $80-Million Campus Upgrade
Niagara College’s $80-Million transformation to their Welland Campus is completed and their ready to show it off.
“We’re very excited to unveil the dramatic transformation of our Welland Campus and we look forward to sharing this event with the entire community,” said Niagara College President Dan Patterson.
The campus’ Grand Opening celebration will take place on Thursday, May 26, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
“It’s an event that will offer something for everyone, and I encourage people to join us, tour our new buildings and learn about some of the exciting things we’re doing at Niagara College,” said Patterson.
The new facility will include upgrades like:
- A $40-million Applied Health Institute, with high-tech classrooms and lab spaces, an expanded dental clinic, a community wellness clinic, a 400-seat auditorium, new digital x-ray stations, and specialty rooms.
- Green features that include 500 solar panels, a wind turbine, and geothermal heating. They have also added a new sustainable landscape, with 6.4 km of walking trails and an urban park setting.
- A new Athletic Centre with a double varsity-sized gymnasium, and seating for 1000 fans.
- A new 70,000 square foot Technology Centre that makes room for 700 new spaces in skilled trades and apprentice programs.
