Kingston Learning Centre Becomes KLC College

The Kingston Learning Centre has a new name, but the changes don’t stop there.

The school is now known as KLC College: Healthcare, Business, Education. They are also undergoing massive changes across the board, as they have added new certification and new facilities.

“We introduced a number of initiatives to better accommodate the changing needs of the community,” said Stephen Bartolini, KLC College’s Director.

“We have been successfully serving for 28 years… the training needs evolve all the time, as the professions change, job descriptions change, technology changes, so we are ensuring that the College is keeping pace with those changes and reflects the needs of the industries we are training for.”

Part of their expansion includes adding 50% more space to make room for the new Pharmacy Lab and Pharmacy Technician Program. The new labs now bring the school up to full accreditation standards for the Canadian Council for the Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs (CCAPP)

“The new Pharmacy Lab was one of the steps we saw as necessary to have our Program accredited by the CCAPP,” said Joanne Karlos, Program Coordinator.

She added the college has been pursuing full accreditation for the past 2 years, with their hard work paying off earlier this summer by being awarded College Provisional Status.

“We were very excited to receive this accreditation.”

“It really reflects the quality of teaching that we have been delivering as well as our commitment to excellence that we have at the College. Both the students, as well as the employers we prepare our students for, now have an additional assurance they are receiving the necessary skills to succeed in their field.”

The also offer programs such as Education Assistant.
