CGA Ontario Offers Free Financial Planning Guide to Students

Tax Tips for Students

Tax Tips for Students

The Certified General Accountants of Ontario (CGA Ontario) wants to cut back on the number of starving students.

CGA Ontario is doing its part to help students save money and maximize tax deductions in their 2010 Personal Tax Planning Guide. The guide is aimed specifically at students and contains information such as:

  • Tax tips and tax credits
  • Federal and provincial tax updates
  • Details about income and expenses

“Information drives learning and knowledge,” said Doug Brooks, FCGA and CEO of CGA Ontario.

“It’s important for businesses and communities across Ontario to have access to such comprehensive resources as it equips them with the information necessary to understand the viable options applicable to their unique situation and lifestyle.”

CGA Ontario also released their 2010-11 Tax Tips for Students (PDF) brochure, which deals with: tuition fees, education credits, student loans, RRSP contributions, GST rebates, and child care.

Both guides are completely free, and available for download or in print form through the offices of certified general accountants, CGA Ontario, and participating local public libraries.

Certified general accountants also offer free regional tax preparation services for low-income earners (including seniors and students) across Ontario, starting in mid-January and continuing until April 2011.
