The Aveda Institute Opens Winnipeg Campus

The Aveda Institute is helping to revitalize Winnipeg’s downtown with a brand new campus for their health and beauty education.

“We have a lot of Aveda fans in Winnipeg and many of our top talent stylists, colourists and makeup artists across the country hail from this city,” said Ray Civello, President of Aveda Canada, with salons, spas and stores across the country.

“It seemed fitting that we house our new store within the Aveda Institute to provide a holistic shopping experience in a facility where we can nurture Winnipeg’s future salon professionals.”

The 9,000 square-foot Aveda Institute hair & beauty school and retail store was recently unveiled in the Ashdown Building (80 Rorie Street) in downtown Winnipeg. They’re already adding to the local economy, as 10 new full-time employees have been hired, with further expansion projected in January 2013. Approximately 15 students will be enrolled in each intake, with 3-4 intakes happening each year.

Aveda has been a leader in providing beauty products and education since 1978. Winnipeg joins the global network of 58 Aveda Institutes worldwide; graduating approximately 7,000 graduates annually. They currently have Canadian campuses in Vancouver, Victoria, Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, Montreal and Toronto.
