Ontario Association of Career Colleges (OACC) Officially Re-brands as Career Colleges Ontario

As for July 1st, the Ontario Association of Career Colleges (OACC) will officially be known under its new name and brand, Career Colleges Ontario (CCO).

CCO Board Chair Dean Tremain feels the name change will better reflect the purpose of the organization.

“The Ontario Association of Career Colleges is changing its name to Career Colleges Ontario to better represent a brand that signifies advocacy and province wide representation in the Ontario education sector,” he said. “We will remain a member driven association but with a stronger mandate on lobbying for student choice and quality driven membership within the Career College sector that provides Ontario students with a better variety of options for postsecondary education and training.”

Since being established in 1973, the CCO has grown to represent over 280 college campuses and their students across Ontario. The career college sector in the province provides hands-on training to over 67,000 students every year, employs over 12,000 staff, saves Ontario taxpayers more than $1 billion annually and generates over $94 million in business and payroll taxes.
