CDI College Adds Dental Technician and Event Planner Programs to Surrey

CDI College has added two new programs to their Surrey campus. They now offer an Event Planner Program and a Dental Technician Diploma Program.

The dental technician training is a 94-week program. Students will work in wet and dry labs with equipment and materials that are used in the field. They will also gain practical experience prior to graduation in two practicum placements, as well.

“Dental technicians rely on both artistic and technical skills when hand-crafting various products for patients,” said Larry Heinzlmeir, VP of Marketing for CDI College.

“With hands-on training in our state-of-the-art laboratory, students will emerge with the unique skills and knowledge they need to begin careers as dental technicians.”

Meanwhile, the event planner program teaches students to design, plan and stage a range of events, from weddings and black-tie galas to corporate events and trade shows. Students will also receive a student membership with the local chapter of the International Special Events Society of Canada (ISES).

“With the province’s capacity to host large events in a growing number of cities like Surrey, there will be a need for professionals to plan and stage these events,” said Heinzlmeir.

“The Event Planner program will prepare students to work on a wide range of events, from weddings and corporate parties to exhibitions and festivals.”
