Canadian Tourism College Adds IMI Higher Diploma Program

British Columbia’s Canadian Tourism College’s International Hotel Management Institute (IMI) Higher Diploma is perfect for hospitality or tourism students who want to hit the workforce in a hurry.
The Canadian Tourism College has confirmed that they will be offering the IMI Higher Diploma in International Tourism and Events Management from their Vancouver campus in the fall of 2012.
Students can gain certification in hospitality and tourism management, and they will also get a chance to gain some international work experience in Switzerland.
“While this is an incredible academic venture for current and prospective students, the IMI Higher Diploma is also ideal for people already equipped with hospitality or tourism training, degrees in other fields and/or qualified work experience (who) want to increase their eligibility for junior or middle management positions,” said the Canadian Tourism College in a press release.
The two year program is segmented into four parts:
- Have a diploma in hospitality, tourism or related work experience or a degree in an unrelated area
- Enrol in the Higher Diploma at CTC for a full 15-week semester.
- Transfer to International Hotel Management Institute in Luzern, Switzerland for a five-month semester.
- Complete four to six months of paid training and hands-on work experience in Switzerland.
