TIA Canada Group Shot
Fashion students from Ryerson University, Seneca College and George Brown College recently designed lingerie for The 2011 Triumph Inspiration Award Canada, at the Windsor Arms Hotel in April.
Ryerson University’s fashion design student Jayson Araja, won the top prize, beating out nine other finalists. His winning design came to him while he was doodling and watching the movie Elizabeth, which is why he called it Elizabethan Goddess.
“One hundred and 25 years of Celebrating Women, what better way to celebrate than to honour one of the strongest and most powerful women in history,” said Araja.
“Queen Elizabeth I embodies great strength, great passion and great courage and I felt inspired and empowered by her because of what she has done for her country and her people during her reign.”
Araja took home 15,000 Euros for the win, which he said he’ll put towards his student loan. He also earned a chance to adapt his work with the Triumph design team into a commercial lingerie set. Second place took home 10,000 Euros, with third place winners earning 5,000 Euros.
