Great Apps for Students

No pen or paper needed! These three apps keeps everything you need at your fingertips.

The days of using a pen and student agenda to stay organized are a distant memory to most. Here are three apps that can help you keep all your study, exam and essay needs in one place, right at your fingertips.

Studious

It may be in Beta mode, but Studious is already on its way to becoming a must-have for any student who wants to keep organized. If you find yourself jotting down reminders in odd places, stuffing randomly-scrawled class notes in your coat pockets or never consulting your student agenda, Studious will keep everything organized on your laptop, Mac, Android or iPhone.

Enter your timetable and the app automatically silences your phone during class time. You can add homework assignments, exam dates, text notes and photos. Set Studious to remind you when assignments are due and exams are looming so you’re nudged to get started on your class work in plenty of time.

Evernote

Evernote is quickly becoming a must-have app for just about everyone. Save entire webpages to your free Evernote account using the web clipper browser extension. The web clipper saves everything, including text, images and links, so nothing is ever lost.

Evernote allows you to share class notes, work with classmates, and attach just about any form of document or additional media to a note. You can take pictures, record audio, jot down reminders, upload files, scanned documents and images and it will all automatically sync across every device or computer that you use, from smartphones to tablets to laptops.

Everything you need is at your immediate disposal, no matter the device you’re working from.

Pocket

If you want an easy-to-use, straightforward app to store websites that you need to consult for exams or essays, it doesn’t get any simpler than Pocket (formerly Read It Later). Just right-click and save the sites to Pocket, adding taglines to organize sites into categories.

Log into Pocket with a free account and you can access your saved info on your phone or laptop. Pocket comes in handy when you have to stop reading mid-article and want to store it for later consultation. If you like the link and know you’ll need it later, archive it. If you’re done with it, delete it.

It’s handy, no-fuss and extremely easy to use.
