Vancouver Career College Thrilled with Graduate Employment Numbers

Vancouver Community CollegeVancouver Career College is celebrating a recent graduate employment report that shows that more than 90% of graduates from their Coquitlam, Surrey and Kelowna campuses found employment in 2012. The breakdown by campus is even more impressive: a 98% employment rate for Coquitlam, 96.5% for Surry and 94.6% for the Kelowna campus.

The numbers also prove that Vancouver Career College’s formula for turning out highly-skilled, job-ready graduates in the fields of business, healthcare, legal, education, trades, technology and art and design is working! Courses are taught by industry-experienced instructors and the curriculum combines classroom learning with hands-on training through scenarios, lab work and simulation exercises.

Most programs include practicum placements, which gives students an opportunity to gain relevant experience in the field before graduation. In fact, numerous students have been hired by their practicum hosts as a result of their placement, often prior to completing their program.

Vancouver Career College also provides access to its Career Services department to both students and alumni. This allows them to research openings in their field, get job hunting assistance and practice their interview skills. The department’s Optimal Resume Service, an online tool that allows students to create cover letters, resumes and personal websites, is also offered to students and alumni.

“We are very pleased that our graduates have successfully used their training to land jobs in their field of choice,” says Larry Heinzlmeir, VP of Marketing for Vancouver Career College. “As a college, we measure our success based on the success of our grads. And, the latest grad employment results show us that there is a demand for the type of training Vancouver Career College provides.”
