OACC Award Ceremony to Recognize College Graduates and Instructors
The Ontario Association of Career Colleges (OACC) will recognize six outstanding career college graduates from across Ontario at an inaugural awards ceremony in Windsor this week. One outstanding instructor will also be recognized for his or her teaching excellence.
“We received over 40 nominations detailing the inspiring stories and accomplishments of individuals who have achieved excellence in their field and who have contributed to their community,” said OACC President Peter Dykstra.
The OACC 2013 Awards for Excellence in Teaching and Outstanding Graduates in the categories of Business, Health Services, Human Services, Information Technology, Services, and Trades will be handed out on May 30th at the Caesars Windsor. Award selection was made by an external panel which included MPP Garfield Dunlop. Recipients were chosen based on success in their field of study and their contribution to the community.
The OACC’s conference at Caesars Windsor will celebrate the association’s 40 years as a provincial voice for Ontario’s career colleges and their students throughout the conference. Keynote speaker Amanda Lang will speak on “The Power of Why” on May 31st at 11am, while guest speaker MPP Garfield Dunlop will speak on May 30th at 8pm.
