Canadian Gov’t Gives $90k to 6 Atlantic Student Entrepreneurs
The Government of Canada is supporting 6 student entrepreneurs as they compete against the rest of the country.
The recipients will soon head to two Enactus Canada expositions to compete against other students and learn from business leaders.
"Our Government’s top priority of jobs, growth and long-term prosperity is fuelled by the innovation and ambition of young entrepreneurs such as those involved with Enactus Canada," said Peter Penashue, Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs.
"Our Government is pleased to support post-secondary students from Enactus teams across Newfoundland and Labrador at their upcoming expositions. These students have demonstrated entrepreneurial vision and will benefit from the opportunity to further develop their leadership, teamwork and business skills."
The $90,000 will enable students from the Newfoundland and Labrador-based teams to participate in the exposition. Enactus Canada’s (formerly Advancing Canadian Entrepreneurship) Regional Exposition – Atlantic Canada will take place in Halifax from February 28 to March 1st and its National Exposition will be held in Toronto from May 6th to the 8th.
"The Government of Canada’s support of our Enactus teams and student entrepreneurs has been instrumental in the growth and development of our programs in this part of the country," said Nicole Almond, Enactus Canada president.
