The Top 5 Things Canadian Students Have to Be Thankful For
It’s back to school after the Canadian Thanksgiving and our nation’s college and university students are back at it.
In the spirit of the season, here are a few things Canadian students are thankful for this year.
1. Having a professor and not a boss
You think your professor is a jerk, wait until you get a boss. Professors may assign you a seemingly absurd amount of work and you may curse their name every day after class. But, trust us, having a boss is worse. You’ll see.
2. Facebook is still free and hasn’t stolen your soul yet
Despite the thousands of paranoid Facebook statuses over the last year, no, Mark Zuckerberg has not decided to start charging for Facebook. Nor has he claimed legal ownership of everything you’ve ever posted (And no, it’s not because droves of gullible people raised awareness with a status update). So, we’ve got that going for us. Which is nice.
3. The SPC Card
You have no money whatsoever. By now, some early overspending in the school year should have you revisiting your budget. Getting a 15% discount here and there can go a long way.
4. The good TV is back
All of your favourite shows on network television are back. On premium cable (or download), Dexter is back and The Walking Dead is back soon. Now is a good time to be lazy.
5. It’s the best time to be a sports fan
This part of the fall is amazing for jocks. The MLB playoffs are underway. The NFL is dominating Sundays. The NBA tips off later this month and the NHL is… Oh yeah. Dammit.
