Thinking About Going to College or University in British Columbia?
The BC Council for International Education (BCCIE) is obviously one of the first to sing the praises of studying in BC.
“You’re making a smart move by choosing to study in BC. According to magazines like The Economist and institutions like the United Nations, BC is the best place in the world to learn, live and play,” said the BCCIE’s website.
In fact, the Economist Intelligence Unit once again selected Vancouver as the world’s most liveable city. Vancouver scored a 98 out of a possible 100 based on 30 different criteria.
“Cities that score best tend to be mid-sized cities in wealthier countries with a relatively low population density. This often fosters a broad range of recreational availability without leading to high crime levels or overburdened infrastructure,” said The Economist.
“Seven of the top ten scoring cities are in Australia and Canada, where population densities of 2.88 and 3.40 people per sq km respectively compare with a global (land) average of 45.65 and a US average of 32.”
The BCCIE claims that BC is the best place to study because of the province’s superior education, extraordinary quality of life, friendly and diverse people, and the mildest weather in Canada.
