VanArts Animation/VFX Graduate Enjoys Awesome Career
With a name like Josh Awesome, you kind of have to succeed. Fortunately The Vancouver Institute of Media Arts’ grad has lived up to his name.
Since graduating, Awesome has filled his portfolio with amazing work with major clients like Electronic Arts, Vancouver Canucks, Whistler, and Canadian Pacific Rail. He even opened up his own company, eyeslice Studios.
He is still humble despite his success, and is still thankful for the training he received at VanArts.
“VanArts provided me with an amazing atmosphere to develop the skills I needed to really succeed in the industry. The instructors were constantly engaged with the students, working one-on-one with us and providing intense but supportive education,” said Awesome.
Awesome studied VanArts’ part-time courses in 2D Animation & Basic Drawing, and was accepted into their Media Arts Boot Camp program for high school students. He then entered their full-time (Classical) 2D Animation Program in September 2004 and continued into a second year in the Visual Effects Program. He graduated with a 2-year diploma in 2006.
“There were amazing talks given by leading industry professionals, and this pushed me to do better than my best and prepped me for the real working world. I owe a lot of what I’ve learned and where I am today to my schooling at VanArts,” said Awesome.
