The Co-operators Donates $75,000 to Student Sustainability Projects
Eighteen student leaders have received a total of $75,000 in funding to support their projects aimed at creating a healthier, more sustainable world.
The funding comes courtesy of the in IMPACT! The Co-operators Youth Program for Sustainability Leadership.
“At the end of the conference each student made a personal commitment to become a catalyst for sustainability in the months and years ahead, and our IMPACT! Fund was created to help them do that,” said Kathy Bardswick, President and CEO of The Co-operators.
The IMPACT! Fund has already given$88,685 to support sustainability projects undertaken by alumni of the inaugural conference held in 2009.
“With a little financial support, the sky is the limit in terms of what these exceptional, passionate young people might be able to achieve,” added Bardswick.

- Shea Balish, Dalhousie University, NS
- Adam Vaiya, Humber College
- Jessica Tremblay-Flamand, Cégep de Saint-Jérome
