RCC Institute of Technology Adds 1-Year Electronics Technician Program
The RCC Institute of Technology will be offering a new Electronics Technician Program, which will help students get trained in a year.
An announcement on the school’s website identified a need in the market for the reason they launched this program, saying “With technology developing at an unparalleled speed, highly adaptive electronics technicians have many exciting and productive career opportunities available to them in a variety of diverse fields.”
Graduates of the program can also continue their studies and pursue a Bachelor or Masters after studying at RCC.
“In only one year of intensive study, this program is a fast track for graduates seeking employment as technicians in a variety of sectors including telecommunications, alternative energy, manufacturing (automotive, shipbuilding), robotics and more,” said the announcement.
The program will aim to teach students how to be Electronics Technicians with an emphasis on hand-on learning and lab time. The school claims that this approach to learning “produces graduates who are immediately recognized by employers for their practical skills and problem solving abilities.”
The program has already received approval by The Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities in Ontario, and will welcome its first class in April of 2012.
