Edmonton’s CDI College Raises Big Money for Charities
Edmonton’s CDI College is giving back to the community in a big way, with a recent event that raised over $10,000 for various charities.
The school recently held an apprentice-style competition, with the proceeds going to each team’s chosen charity. Armed only with pizza and ideas, teams had to find creative ways to sell Papa Johns pizza, during the one-and-a-half hour competition.
“This event definitely exceeded my expectations and I am so proud of both my staff and Edmontonians for stepping up to the plate to help out some well-deserving charities,” stated Kyle Ferbey, CDI College Edmonton City Centre Campus Director.
“In addition to helping the community we live and work in, I think our team members set a great example for our students on how important it is to give back.”
He added it would be nice to see this event become a yearly tradition, and expand to more of CDI’s campuses.
In the end, The winning team, called Team Rooftoppers, raised an impressive $3,774.32. Their charity was Habitat for Humanity.
Here’s how the teams stacked up against each other:
- CDI Team Rooftoppers (Habitat for Humanity) = $3,774.32
- CDI Team NRJ3=MC2 (Stollery Children’s Hospital) = $2,184.23
