Mississauga’s Metalworks Institute Hosts Keyboard Day

Metalworks Institute will be dedicating an entire day to the keyboard this week. October 16th will be Keyboard Day at Mississauga’s music school.The free event is sponsored by Roland Canada, and takes place between 11:00am – 4:00pm.

Keyboard Day will have clinics and performances for keyboard players, presented by experienced musicians and producers. Participants can learn from Jim Gilmour (Saga), Donavon LeNabat, Peter Kadar (Amanda Marshall, Jully Black), Morgan Pottruff and Davor Jordanovski. LeNabat will host the Using Music Technology to Enhance Your Life Performance clinic as well as an Ableton clinic by producer and keyboardist Pottruff.

There will also be a chance to tour Metalworks Studios, which has hosted artists such as Prince, Tina Turner, David Bowie, Bruce Springsteen, Christina Aguilera, Drake, Rush, Barenaked Ladies, The Cranberries, Metric and Feist.

Participants can also enter a raffle to win a Roland Lucina AX-09 performance synthesizer.

Metalworks was established in 1978, and has expanded into a six studio powerhouse. Today, they are recognized as a world-class studio facility, and have won an unprecedented 11 consecutive years as “RECORDING STUDIO OF THE YEAR” at the CMW Canadian Music Industry Awards.

They offer many 1year, 2-year and certificate programs in both the business end and the performance end of the music industry.
