Canadian Tourism College Wins Prestigious Award.
British Columbia’s Canadian Tourism College is celebrating some new hardware after winning a North American award.
The school has been recognised by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), as Americas Top IATA Authorized Training Centre (ATC) for 2011. Most notably, for the number of students they have trained and their high student pass rate of IATA’s Foundations Level curriculum in 2010.
“I would like to congratulate Canadian Tourism College for being selected. Your role in developing the human capital of our industry in your country by reaching out to the next generation of leaders is crucial and IATA strongly recognizes and supports your efforts,” said Ismail Albaidhani, IATA’s Head of Distant Learning.
The Canadian Tourism College has campuses in Vancouver and Surrey. Since 1980, they have helped over 30,000 students get trained in areas such as Airlines, Computer Digital Literacy, Hospitality, Tourism, Adventure, and English. They are also the first private college in B.C. to offer Adventure Tourism Diploma training with a focus on sustainable outdoor tourism.
The IATA was created over 60 years ago by a group of airlines and represents 230 airlines, comprising 93% of scheduled international air traffic.
