VanArts Hosts Media Arts & Acting Boot Camp
The Vancouver Institute of Media Arts is giving young people a foot in the door with their bootcamp.
This week VanArts is hosting their annual Media Arts and Acting Boot Camps.
The camp is a chance for BC high school students to get a taste of what it’s like to study acting or media arts.
30 local students will take part in 4 intensive days of training and exercises in 2D Animation (Monday), 3D Animation (Tuesday), Game Art & Design (Wednesday), and Visual Effects (Thursday).
The goal is to give these students hands-on experience to gain an understanding of the various levels of production for the film, TV and video game industries.
All activities are led by the industry-proven instructors from VanArts, as they explore the various facets of their acting program, including improv, movement, voice and other skills.
The boot camp has always been popular and serves as a great introduction to VanArts. By showing students a glimpse into their programs, the school can potentially spark something and get students imagining a future career in the creative class.
Participants were primarily from grades 12, 11, and 10, from secondary schools all over the Vancouver mainland and Vancouver Island.
