Vanier and Cégep de Saint-Laurent add Immigration Consulting Program
Saint-Laurent’s Vanier College and Cégep de Saint-Laurent are introducing a new Attestation d’études collégiales (A.E.C) program in Immigration Consulting this spring.
The A.E.C. program is accredited by the Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants and will be offered in April.
The new program’s first year will coincide with a change to recent regulations. Now, The Minister of Immigration and Cultural Communities requires immigration consultants to obtain official recognition and register with the Quebec Register of Immigration Consultants (Registre québécois des consultants en immigration). Prior to that, immigration consultants must present proof of membership in the Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants (C.S.I.C)
After successfully finishing the Immigration Consulting Program, students will be ready to write the C.S.I.C’s Professional Standards Test. Pass the test and you get your official designation as a Canadian Consultant in Immigration (C.C.A.I).
Vanier College and Cégep de Saint-Laurent are the only schools east of Ontario to offer this training. Vanier College is the only one to offer instruction in the English-language in the same region.
