TD Canada Trust Encourages Students to Go Green
Canada’s green bank is encouraging college and university students to think green.
Applications are now being accepted for The Fourth Annual TD Go Green Challenge.
“We created the TD Go Green Challenge to engage Canadian students in environmental sustainability and judging from the impressive entries we’ve received in the past, we know many Canadian students are passionate about the environment,” said Mary Desjardins, Executive Director, TD Friends of the Environment Foundation.
Post-secondary students are encouraged to submit a video that explains what they would do to make their campus more environmentally responsible and more sustainable. Participants can work in a team of 2-4 people and will compete for a top prize of $20,000, a $100,000 grant for environmental initiatives on their campus, and a paid internship with TD Friends of the Environment Foundation (or another environmental non-profit orgainzation).
The runner-up team will get $15,000 and a $15,000 grant for tree-planting, while the third place team gets $10,000 and a $10,000 grant. There is also a People’s Choice Award for $2,500, which is based on internet voting.
