Herzing College Acquires Radio and Television Broadcasting Program
Herzing College Winnipeg and the Academy of Broadcasting Corporation have announced that the latter’s Radio and Television Broadcasting Program has been acquired by Herzing, and new programs will be offered starting later this month.
Beginning this week, twenty-six current radio and television students along with their three instructors will make the Herzing Winnipeg campus on Portage Avenue their home, with new programs starting on July 24th and September 23rd.
“We are excited to expand our program offerings and welcome media-savvy students to the campus,” says Herzing Winnipeg President, Bill Riches. “The Radio and Television Broadcasting program fit perfectly with our objective of being able to offer career-driven diploma programs in 1 year or less.”
The comprehensive nine-month program includes classes on media and video production, broadcast news writing and copywriting, broadcast sales, marketing and much more, and features a 100-hour practicum component. Graduates of the program have gone on to work for a number of Western Canadian radio and television stations, including CBC Radio, Citytv and CTV.
