Brighton College Grand Opening

The new campus is now the main hub for programs like healthcare and hospitality.

You may have already heard about Brighton College’s third and newest campus that opened in January 2013. The new campus is located in Central City Mall in Surrey, British Columbia and it boasts newly renovated classrooms with beautiful views of the Coastal mountain range and it is mere steps away from Surrey Central Skytrain Station which means it’s easily accessible too!

The new campus is now the main hub for programs like healthcare, hospitality, and the brand new office administration programs! This Brighton College campus also features a new healthcare lab where the Health Care Assistant and Resident Care Attendant students can prosper.

The healthcare programs at Brighton College are always accepting new applicants as intakes occur so frequently. Both programs are 26 weeks total in duration, each with local on-site clinical placements included. Each curriculum features specially selected classes. For example in the Health Care Assistant program, HCA 600 – Facilitating Special Needs: Alzheimer’s and Dementia. Classes like this ensure that Brighton College graduates are up to date with the current industry needs, which is important as so many jobs require specific knowledge.

The job outlook for these careers is bright! As an entry level worker you can expect to earn about $17.50 an hour working full-time, and there are many opportunities for part-time work in this field as well. As the population of B.C. continues to age job openings in this field will increase. Also, according to Workbc.ca, the B.C. government is increasing the amount of long-term care beds available which also allows for an increase in job opportunities for Resident Care Attendants.
