Ontario College Students Welcome New Premier and Minister
Kathleen Wynne became the 25th Premier of Ontario as she and her cabinet were sworn in this week. The College Student Alliance (CSA) were quick to congratulate her and state they looked forward to working with her.
“We welcome the opportunity to meet with Premier Wynne,” said Tyler Epp, Director of Advocacy of the College Student Alliance.
“To hear her vision for the future of post-secondary education and the government’s plans in meeting the increasing demands of funding, space, technology and a lifelong learning mindset that Premier McGuinty has spoken of so often throughout his time in office.”
The CSA also welcomed Minister Brad Duguid as the new Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities. They also welcome the opportunity to work with Duguid, “to improve the post-secondary education experience for college students across Ontario.”
“Ontario’s college students welcome the focus on our most vulnerable and underrepresented citizens in Ontario,” said Ciara Bryne, President of the College Student Alliance.
“We also welcome Minister Brad Duguid – Member of Provincial Parliament for Scarborough Centre – to his portfolio as the Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities.”
The CSA currently represents 15 colleges and 22 student associations with over 135,000 full-time student members throughout the province.
