U of T Student Named PROFIT Magazine’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year
Many of Canada’s young entrepreneurs will be recognized for their hard work by PROFIT Magazine. This year marks the first-ever FuEL Awards, produced by PROFIT Magazine in partnership with Impact Entrepreneurship Group.
At the head of the class, recent University of Toronto grad Alexander Levy was honoured for creating a mobile application that allows people with communication disorders, such as those caused by stroke, autism and ALS, to make themselves understood audibly.
MyVoice Inc. is now used by more than 9,000 people in 30 countries.
“Our products materially improve the lives of thousands of people with disabilities,” said Levy, who now has 10 employees.
The FuEL Awards honour the achievements and aspirations of entrepreneurs under the age of 30, and are also sponsoured by Rogers, KPMG Enterprise and TD Bank Group, and Filemobile.
“The winners of the FuEL Awards are eager young Canadians, brimming with innovative ideas and a passion for creating a better future,” said Ian Portsmouth, Editor-in-Chief of PROFIT.
“They are role models for Canada’s youth, and the cornerstone of the country’s economic prospects.”
Winners will be profiled in an upcoming issue of PROFIT and will receive a one-day business consultation with professionals from KPMG Enterprise.
