The fashion-forward staff and students at the John Casablancas Institute are excited to announce the date and theme for this year’s Fall Fashion Show.

The OBSIDIAN fashion show will take place on November 17th, 2011, at 6 p.m. at the Villa Amato Ballroom (88 East 1st) in Vancouver.

Obsidian is a black volcanic glass formed as an extrusive igneous rock, and has been chosen as this year’s theme.

“It is said that Black OBSIDIAN is the stone for development. It also stimulates your development as a human being, heals your soul, protects you from dark powers and gives you strength when you are in need,” said student Sarah MacDonald, in the school’s blog.

“We will take you deep into our version of a mining cave where beauty is found. With fire dancers, a gun powder painter, and a wide array of creative designs, this is a fashion show you will not want to miss.”

The event will have a cash bar, and auction with proceeds going to a good cause.

“All net proceeds will be going to the Looking Glass Foundation, a charity dedicated to helping adolescents with eating disorders,” said MacDonald.
