Harris Institute Achieves 0% Student Loan Default Rates

Harris InstituteFor once, a score of 0% is a good thing!

Harris Institute has rated 0% in the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU) 2010 Key Performance Indicator (KPI) for Student Loan Default Rates.

“The 0% Default Rates are significant considering the current music industry upheaval and that, as a private college, our tuitions are higher than publicly funded institutions,” says John Harris, the college’s president.

This marks the third time they’ve done so, which is a first in Ontario. No other college, university or private career college in Ontario has achieved 0% three times.

“This achievement is due to the quality of our 64 member faculty and I congratulate them all.”

The MTCU publishes the default rates for all of Ontario’s 179 post secondary schools as a way for would-be students to make an informed choice about which school to attend. The Ministry website states, “Higher default rates are an indication of greater financial risk”.

It’s been a year of acclaim for The Harris Institute as they were featured in both Mix Magazine’s “Audio Education’s Finest” and Billboard Magazine’s “Schools That Rock”, the world’s leading audio and music industry publications.
