iStars Trains Students for New Music Industry
With computer programs like GarageBand, anyone can make themselves feel like a rock star. But even as the music industry evolves, it still takes a lot more than that to succeed.
“There is a new music business out there from recording to sales and marketing,” said Zack Werner, iStars’ Director of Media Relations.
iSTARS is a new Scarborough-based school that focuses on giving students focused training on the technical and business end of the music industry. Their programs range from topics such Composition / Songwriting, to Entertainment Business Arts, to Music Production Studio, to Live Performance or Vocal Training.
“But just because you can make music at home and reach the world through your computer doesn’t mean you’re ready to be a star. iSTARS is about giving you the right tools to be truly at your best and most importantly, unique.”
The school also offers a strong focus on career planning. They teach their students how to create, maintain and leverage industry contacts.
Their campus is also equipped with a fully-functional performance stage, live performance video recording equipment, and state-of-the-art recording studios with computer suites.
